The Priya | tiny house on wheels no. 3
We designed and built the Priya on a larger scale for a customer in Texas; it’s 24 feet long and over 13,000 pounds. The galley kitchen is complete with stainless sink, cooktop, convection microwave, five foot fridge, and a compact stacked laundry closet.
Built In Function
This house works all the custom angles; storage lofts, ground floor storage bed with built in lights and bedside tables, laundry closet with door activated switch, and a nook that transforms for office work, dining space, or a comfy loveseat with cushions.
The Priya was our first custom design/build, made to suit the particular needs of our client. It was planned as an immediate office and retreat and to later become a full time residence for two. It includes a fully tiled bathroom, galley kitchen, and generous office nook with USB charging outlets and a desk surface adjustable to two different levels for flexibility.
With painted board and batten exterior cladding, steel roof, and sturdy 2×6 framing, the Priya is built for function and to withstand both storms and sunshine for many years to come. Two A/C units and fiberglass insulation keep her cool no matter how hot the weather, and exterior lights, inlets, and outlets for utilities complete the package.
The front door with dog entrance is flanked by a convenient closet, the laundry lights up when you open the door, and the bedroom has a custom flush mount sliding dutch door (to keep the dogs out) and its own exterior door. This design is meant to age gracefully in many ways, from the grab bars and single level floor plan to the tough easy care bamboo floors.
